Keynote Speaker: Fred Holden

Fred Holden, a Colorado resident and author of "Total Power of One in America" will be our featured speaker from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

From the Denver Business Journal, June 29, 2001:

While many people celebrate Independence Day on July 4, Fred Holden says he does it all year long.
Holden's mission for the past 15 years has been to make people aware of their own influence -- especially on the government. His book, "Total Power of One in America," is simply about what one person can accomplish, Holden says.

The 582-page, self-published book contains what Holden believes is "everything you need to know to be a powerful person and citizen put between two covers." The book offers self-improvement advice and inspirational messages by people such as Thomas Jefferson, Robert F. Kennedy and Shakespeare.

A message prominent in the book is that political apathy is a problem that will someday strip Americans of their political rights, including their freedom.

Holden says government needs to be preserved and its growth controlled. This is why citizens need to know about their rights of getting involved in governmental issues.

The former director of public affairs research at Coors Brewing Co., Holden has been exercising his own power of one by setting a goal to get his book "in the hands, heads and hearts of 20 million Americans." Now retired, Holden has made this mission his full-time job.

Immediately following the keynote speech, we will begin our Constitution Convention.
